you must follow directions here---> http://www.wine-reviews.net/applications/itunes-73-on-linux-with-wine.html just make sure to use itunes 9.0 in place of the mentioned itunes 7.3 in this guide. I did not use virtual desktop when I installed and ran itunes 9.0, and I used the wine command in ubuntu terminal to run and install. --NOTE FROM MAINTAINER-- Use the above method at your own risk only.

iTunes and iPod shuffle

It is possible to let iTunes syncing my ipod shuffle? When I connect iPod shuffle iTunes don't show it in devices =|

I run Ubuntu 10.04 with Gnome-Shell 3 on an Atom (Samsung netbook); I not want to waste my time and hard earned money on Windows or Mac, however I have an iPhone and I've seen a few nice pieces online of ways to sync some features (aka your iTunes library with Rhythmbox and iPhone photos with F-Spot) but I want the full iTunes on Linux. I don't mind running it through Wine but I doubt an Atom can handle a dual-boot or VMWare.

Any suggestions/solutions?

SuperUser.com has a workaround to get iTunes running inside VirtualBox with full USB and iPhone support:
superuser.com/questions/70943/sync-iphone-in-windows-xp-running-as-virtualbox-guest-under-ubuntu-9-10

I know this is no solution for Wine, but it's a useful workaround for those who need it.

The lowest down result is bogus, read it. An admin needs to remove it as it is skewing the results or at least it will when this IS supported.

Installation works fine. When I run itunes it says that installation is broken and that I wont be able to import music from cd or burn music onto cd. itunes crush when try to connect to itunes store
