I did a lot of trial an error and found a lot of games, even native ones, do not like high poling rates. It seems like these games want a poling rate that is below 500hz, 500 still jitters a little. 125hz is as low as my mouse can go. That decreased jitter a lot compared to 1000hz where you couldn't even turn the mouse with direct input turned on. Keep in mind wine does NOT do direct input form the mouse. (Not sure how to rate this, everything works but the mouse is not flawless. Technically works out of the box though.)
