Single player, offline games, etc. Getting sound working required installing xact with winetricks. Getting in game saving working required using a little dll replacement callex XliveLess. Basically, you replace xlive.dll with xliveless's one, and the game won't require GFWL. You need the version that works with GTA San Andreas, I think. To get sound working in the first level, I added a registry entry under DirectSound. "MaxShadowSize=-1".
What does not
Multiplayer likely won't work, because this game relies on MS's Games For Windows Live. Prior to the MaxShadowSize reg entry, I couldn't get sound in the first level, and upon starting a new game, all sound throughout the game would cut out.
What was not tested
Didn't finish the entire game, but played a fair bit of it. Obviously multiplayer won't be working without GFWL.
I used a fresh wine prefix, nothing but xact, and the xlive replacement dll. Also MaxShadowSize=-1 for getting around sound cutting out. Wanted to make this AppDB entry just to let people know that the game can be made to work, and quite playable it is, too.
