used the game patched to 1.1 used winetricks directx9 -> else it denies to start due to missing dlls set windows mode to win98 as it gave me a great speed increase at the starting up and main menu i had the following wine registry keys set: Direct3D/OffscreenRenderingMode - fbo Direct3D/TargetLockMode - textex Direct3D/DirectDrawRenderer - opengl used a no-intro path to speed up testing, though ingame videos were tested and they work properly used the no-dvd patch by reloaded(just for completion) finally, the game gave a pretty poor performance after all(very slow, etc.) and is unplayable as by now, though I'm happy to announce that I got a lot further using wine than using a native windows(on my vista ultimate box the game crashes right after the warning at the very beginning - before the main menu)
