What works
With a bit of "pulling teeth", the app. appears to be properly installed and properly functioning on Ubuntu 10.10 (maverick) 64-bit edition under WINE v1.3.5. BTW - since it's a 16-bit app., Windows Vista/7 64-bit won't run it anymore!
What does not
WINEVDM.EXE crashes once the installer reaches 90% and begins registering the 16-bit DLL's in the C:\Windows directory. I got around that problem by copying DLL's OCX's and COM registrations from Windows into WINE (see my comment posted for details on the error messages).
Once QBW.EXE is up and running, the application would hang whenever when it tried to ring the system bell. Maybe I need a different audio driver or something? The bell, luckily, can be disabled in File | Preferences | General | "Beep when recording a transaction".
Workarounds
What was not tested
I haven't tried reports, printing, etc., but the basic UI seems to be functioning correctly.

Additional Comments
Strange that if the leave the app. with the preferences dialog up, CPU starts to spike until I return and close the modal frame. There must be some constant looping going on!
