What works

Most of the user interface, loading, saving and editing files.

Getting this to work required downloading additional fonts, otherwise the screen was full of garbage.

Also needed to define a serial port (I am new to wine).

What does not

The serial port via a standard UART or via a USB to serial adapter for downloading.  It appears that the serial port is not fully set to raw mode or that the timing delays require modification.   Download will hang or timeout.

Also,  any file i/o or mass channel functions (like recover all deleted channels) takes several minutes instead of seconds.

Workarounds

What was not tested

Uploading to radio.

Additional Comments

Commander is an excellent package - and Jim has always generously made it free. I wish it was open source so I could fix the interface with Wine or backport to Linux. IMPORTANT: The binary .vx7 files are compatible with VT-Manager-0.6.0 so there IS a workaround to the serial port issues by using an external program to download/upload the new programming. regards, Eric N6LG
