Maintainers: About Maintainership
What works
Installation, basic gameplay, except you can't skip the "galactic briefing" at the beginning of the game play. You need to either start the game in window mode (via -w) or change your resolution to 640x480, or else the game will launch in a small corner of the screen.
What does not
Without a native d3drm.dll, tactical battle mode would not even start. After getting a native d3drm.dll as described in the comments, battle mode would try to start, but would fail much like the last reporter: lots of flickering audio/video, the battle field and most of the controls are not actually visible. Also I got an error message in a pop-up window: "The pixel format was invalid as specified" with an OK button. Clicking OK puts you back in battle mode, but it eventually fails out with some error output at the console.
I mostly wanted to make sure there was a current report with a more current version of wine. Also I only think this qualifies as "Bronze" since battle mode is half the game for me, and at least counts as "normal use."
Workarounds
What was not tested
Tactical battle mode. I also did not attempt multiplayer mode.

If you'd rather skip the minutes long briefing when you start a new game, go into the directory and rename the following;
This will skip the briefing. Enjoy.

Place a native version of windows d3drm.dll in the game folder or /windows/system32 and test to see if the game is playable in tactical mode.

Also, it seems that I can't pass the annoying speech of the beggining of the game...
Anyone has insights on solving theses issues?
Thanks :D

However, I can't confirm this because when I tried running the patch I got an error. :/
