What works

Installer : swwi\swsetup.exe with winetricks vcrun2005 msxml6

Registration :  the registration window is displayed and can be filled, but it fails to contact the activation server ( regression, it used to work)

Application :

Solidworks is really useable :

• files operations,
• all volumic and surfacic operations seem to works,
• graphic perfs are quite good, display is quite perfect, icons are correctly displayed
  
• OpenGL is really used by the application, with shaders !!!!
• native gdiplus is no more needed, nor dotnet30 !
  

What does not

• winetricks vcrun2005 msxml6 is required. ie6 allows right panel to be displayed correctly, but doesn't help for registration or online part browsing.
  
• The new IE-based installer (sldim.exe) doesn't work, problems with activeX controls
  
• regular installer (swsetup.exe or msiexec -i ) works but crashes at the end when registering application. But it completes.
•  Toolbox libraries, and some add-ons are not installed correctly. But maybe they can be installed manually.
  
• refresh of left panel (property manager) is quite slow, an a black background is displayed
• an annoying error message pops up every time a file-related menu is called. ( bug  9396 )
  
• saving files is very very slow ! (bug 21245). 
• no access to internet, for registration, or for online libraries when ie6 is activated. 
• opening "personalized properties" tab on right panel crash the application
