Photoshop CS was commercially released in October 2003 as the eighth major version of Photoshop. Photoshop CS increased user control with a reworked file browser augmenting search versatility, sorting and sharing capabilities and the Histogram Palette which monitors changes in the image as they are made to the document. Match Color was also introduced in CS, which reads color data to achieve a uniform expression throughout a series of pictures.
This test report is a continuation of an earlier install of Photoshop 8.0 on Wine (see earlier reports) with Trusty. After the initial update of Wine all features worked, although eventually issues occured (see next section).
What does not
After update to Wine 1.7.28:
Photoshop reports problem saving images with an "Optimized Profile" due to reported shortage of available memory.
Photoshop refuses to render lighting effects due to reported shortage of available memory.
Photoshop doesn't start the Liquify filter due to reported shortage of available memory.
Photoshop doesn't apply the platic wrap filter due to reported shortage of available memory.
Eventually PS stopped functioning completely due to "missing essential libraries"
Removal and fresh install of PS does not work - PS installer refuses to start with Wine 1.7.28.
What was not tested
Complete removal of the Photoshop installation and Wine 1.7.28, and subsequent reinstall of Wine 1.6.2 and Photoshop 8 restored all functionality.

Thanks to earther for the following email:
I was having problems with the Photoshop 7 ALT-Click keybinding in a new Debian install running Compiz. I did the standard window manager tweak but it still didn't work properly. Then I discovered an ALT-Click keybinding in the Compiz Window Management > Move Window > Initiate Window Move settings. I changed it to 'super' like in Gnome window management and voila, it seemed to get it working again in Photoshop. You might want to add that bit of info to the clone tool info on the Photoshop 7 page. earther
