What works

*Install application worked *registration worked *new user worked *starting with a quicken backup file worked *backup worked. *UPdate for account ran a little slow but worked. *Program in general ran a little slow, but ran fine. *IN the application if UPDATE is very slow or hanging its due to it trying to update stock quotes. You will need to change this. 1. Goto EDIT 2. Goto CUSTOMIZE ONLINE UPDATE 3. Click on the TAB the QUOTES 4. Click the button CLEAR ALL, then Click the button OK

What does not

*If you didnt install in the order above it will not work from what I have seen. *If d3d9 directx 9 is installed dotnet30 will not install at all. dotnet30 must be installed at the command prompt. *IE7 *IN the application if UPDATE is very slow or hanging its due to it trying to update stock quotes. You will need to change this. 1. Goto EDIT 2. Goto CUSTOMIZE ONLINE UPDATE 3. Click on the TAB the QUOTES 4. Click the button CLEAR ALL, then Click the button OK

Additional Comments

1. Started with a clean .wine directory $rm -f ~/.wine/ | rm -f ~/.winetrickscache/ 2. I installed fontfix. *This is a must if trying to restart the install at all. $sh winetricks fontfix 3. Using winetricks, installed dotnet30 $sh winetricks dotnet30 *This installed dotnet20 also before since you deleted .wine, then installed dotnet30, it takes awhile, let it run. *Also if directx 9 is installed do #WINEDLLOVERRIDES=d3d9=; wine ./foo.exe or winecfg click libraries tab and remove all directx9. *If any errors, then start all over again from #1. 4. Using winetricks, installed gdiplus $sh winetricks gdiplus 5. Using winetricks, installed ie6. $sh winetricks ie6 *This is for your internet connection *Can use IE8, but install ie6, then ie7, last ie8. 6. $ su # ulimit -n 4096 # su your_username $ wine your_installer in # 7. 7. Using Wine, ran installer for Quicken Home and Business 2010 *If your using a cd then copy the installer to hard drive. I used just the exe file.
