Additional Comments
Didn't work using PlayOnLinux (2% error) so I purge-uninstalled PlayOnLinux and wine, reinstalled the latest wine beta and deleted the old prefix folder (~/.wine) No winetricks used, everything done as if I was running Steam on Windows. I played about 40 minutes in single player, didn't have any sound issues and playable performance so far. Multicore Rendering currently causes inconsistent fps and broken light aura occlusions as described in Bug #24684 so it's better disable it.

many versions of wine were tested and the MOTD fix had no effect, I even disabled motd in the server.
