What works

The toolset installs fully on the specified Dragon Age: Origins directory without issues. Some *.exe files do work, such as ErfEditor.exe, GffEditor.exe or ConfigureToolset.exe (this one is pretty much useless, since it configures the DragonAgeToolset.exe, which does not work). The issue is the embedded SQL Server Express installer, which does not work.

The already specified *.exe files work flawlesly for what they are designed for, the main issue is that many executables depend on the main DragonAgeToolset.exe, which cannot connect to the database.

What does not

The embedded SQL Server Installer gets stuck in the "Scanning your computer's configuration" window, after crashing, closing it or not selecting it from the toolset insaller. After that, the toolset installer keeps running until everything is extracted.

Workarounds

What was not tested

  1. The lightmapper
  2. FxStudio.exe, opens and its UI works, but it depends on resources from the main executable.
  3. ResourceBuilder.exe
  4. FMOD Designer

Hardware tested

Graphics:

  • GPU: Intel
  • Driver: open source

Additional Comments

Other SQL Express versions do not work either, so this tool is mostly useless.
