Additional Comments
Installed in WinXP mode, with disabled pixel shaders. could not launch the 'autorun.exe' on the cd, but launching the setup.exe file directly worked perfectly. install goes fine, and game launches with no probs. cutscenes work fine and look great, no abnormal lag or gameplay-killers characteristics noticed. playing the game with pixel shaders enabled works (i.e. it doesnt generate any crashes) but if pixel shaders are enabled, then the characers in game render as solid colors in the 'diagram of man' position. other than that, worked great!

PS. Do NOT use editors like nano or pico. They'll save the "new line" as \n instead of \n\r which the game does not understand.
Make sure that you have your video drivers and xorg configured correctly. Download and run Envy to do this. http://albertomilone.com/nvidia_scripts1.html
