Additional Comments

Actually I tested this with current git HEAD ac85305c95e6e26954f3b3aea4909371ba36d674, not the 1.1.33 release. When I first started it in Steam I got an Incomplete Installation (53) error from Steam. Then I started in Vista where Steam could complete the installation fine and then run the game. Afterwards I tried again with wine and now get Game currently unavaible. Starting bin/SamHD.exe directly said X3DAudio1_6.dll is missing so used winetricks directx9 but I still had to copy it from my local Vista. But then it still won't run.

HowTo / Notes

Use Wine 1.1.34 or newer to install the game

The game can only be installed using Wine 1.1.34 or newer.

However it's recommended to use the latest Wine version to install it without doing anything.

To install the game on older versions you'll have to bypass the "Error 53" problem.

Use the patch from the following link: bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=24845

Then compile Wine and run the game.

Running the game if Wine is built without GStreamer support

If your Wine is built without GStreamer support you can fix the game crashing by fetching ir50_32.dll from the Internet or Windows XP SP2, and putting the library next to the game exe file:

md5sum ir50_32.dll
