The game works fairly well.
What does not
Some graphics are strange, but I am not sure it is indeed a problem: some explosions are completely white. And in the desert dunes there are some completely black zones that disappear when going near. Probably it is a failed mirage effect. The worst problem (and hence the Gold rating) is that the game seldom starts completely black: the engine is running and you can see the HUD including menus and the crosshair that marks walls correctly. But you cannot see anything in the 3d world, you cannot even see the Netrisca previews (like the rotating image of the knife) or the color settings previews. I could solve the problem just changing from full-screen to windows and vice versa. Annoying, but it works.
What was not tested
Maybe the graphics problems are related to my video card. It gives this OpenGL renderer string: GeForce GTS 250/PCI/SSE2. The nvidia module version is 256.53.

The game can only be installed using Wine 1.1.34 or newer.
However it's recommended to use the latest Wine version to install it without doing anything.
To install the game on older versions you'll have to bypass the "Error 53" problem.
Use the patch from the following link: bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=24845
Then compile Wine and run the game.
