What works

  1. Installs with errors.
  2. Audio tuning wizard runs.
  3. Program runs.
    1. Gives error: 'Unable to initialize support for Cisco Emergency Responder service...."
    2. First time need to input device name and tftp server.Some times it hangs (goes gray) at startup and the process has to be killed, restarting solves the problem.
    3. Registers with CUCM.
    4. Can make and receive calls.

What does not

  1. Can not get audio to work.
  2. Trying to use a USB Plantronics DSP Headset
    1. Workaround attempted:

danicast@danicast-ubuntu:~$ arecord -l

 pcm.!default {

playback.pcm {

slave.pcm "hw:1,0"
}
capture.pcm {

slave.pcm "hw:1,0"
}
}

Then selected OSS on winecfg and played with the audio wizard, the best I could get was I could hear audio (very good quality) but the mic was not picking anything, almost as if it was muted.

What was not tested

Did not try to get it working using normal audio card.

Additional Comments

If I could figure out how to get the Plantronics USB headset work both ways then I think CIPC would work fine.
