Cool Edit Pro 2

What works

This works 100% fine as-is. Tested with Ubuntu Studio Version 22.04, running wine-8.0 (Ubuntu 8.0~repack-4). Zero issues opening up a WAV file, editing, etc. 

What does not

As Syntrillium Software was bought by Adobe, there is no way to register this using the built-in functionality (even if you have an existing username and serial number). Without registration, this software will be stuck in a 21 day Trial Period. 

Workarounds

For username and serial number registration (to get the software out of it's 21 day Trial Period), various third-party apps to get around this work fine. YMMV.

Additional Comments

Linux has several very powerful DAWs for the low low price of free-fifty-free. But for reliving the glory days of editing music files ca, 2000, this is a nice retro tool, and drop dead simple to run with Wine.
