Additional Comments

I just installed the game and the mods and it worked. You may want to edit the cfg-files to include your campaign and battle-resolution. And in my experience it's best to start the game either with the start.exe from wine or from console. You may want to have at least one of the DVDs as iso, since your drive will not be released to insert the second disc. I know you shouldn't install directX, but it wouldn't work for me without it, so if you experience that try installing directX. But you shouldn't let the installation handle directX-install, since that crashes. Also It may be possible that the game crashes when you exit it. It happens for me at least half the time, but since i'm exiting it ... Please note: I did NOT install the gold version, but Medieval 2 and Kingdoms. Have fun playing.
