foobar2000

What works

Installed older version of Foobar2000 (1.3.3) for compatibility with components that aren't working with newer versions (tested on win).

• all basic functionality (except volume control)
• fast loading and smooth playback (while it does require a bit more from the cpu it seems to work even faster then on windows)
• channel up sampling
• customization
• visualization
• library (updates as well)
• file operations (moving/copying/renaming)
• facets 1.0 component (search works fine, scroll bars not visible at start until use but still work as intended)
• file types: flac, mp3, m4a, wav

What does not

• volume control
• * opening sound files to foobar (there are 2 programs listed as 'foobar2000' one opens component and other theme import prompt, HOWEVER: drag & dropping files into foobar does work as intended)
• * sound file associations (probably due the previous)
• smooth resizing (works fine but looks choppy)
• lyric show panel 0.4.4 component (fails to connect to servers, this started being a problem in win10 so my personal changes might be the cause, local saved lyrics load fine)
• hardware media buttons
• CD playback (honestly never tested this in win so my personal changes might be the cause)
• file types: none found

* these problem don't show up any more and files are opened fine in foobar, I have no idea what caused (or in this case fixed) the issue and/or if its going to act up in the future.

Additional Comments

Since this is a heavily customized install of foobar some problems might be native to that instead of wine. In the future I might try a complete fresh install with the latest version of foobar. Apart from couple of annoying problems (which I'm sure some might be fixable) foobar runs pretty good.
