What works

The main menus, browsing cookbooks and reading menus (barely, with some jiggling--see below)

What does not

Most entering functions.  Creating new cookbooks doesn't work like it should; you can create a new cookbook, but you'll have to type blindly to enter the name etc.  And creating new recipes doesn't work right either.  You can create one, but not all fields let you enter data, and others don't accept the data like they should (it duplicates part of what you typed, you can't delete some of the stuff it copied, etc.).

Also, viewing recipes is very awkward.  Oftentimes one, two, or all three of the picture/info, ingredients, and instructions windows are blanked out when you open a recipe.  One workaround I've found is to de-maximize and then re-maximize the program within Wine.  That makes the windows populate and you can see everything like you should.  Once you've done that, you can arrow through the recipes in the cookbook you have open and see everything.  Unfortunately if you go back up to the main menu for that cookbook or go up and open a different cookbook, the menus are blanked out again and you have to repeat the de-maximize/re-maximize thing again.  But this workaround can at least allow you to view your old recipes so your old save files won't be totally inaccessible.

Additional Comments

Unfortunately, tweaking the Wine settings doesn't seem to help the program run any better--even running it in a different OS environment like Win95 didn't seem to help. Notwithstanding what it says in Help, About, the program is happiest running in 16-bit color, not 256 colors.
