    HowTo / Notes

    HOWTO
"winetricks wsh57" appears to be all that's needed with wine-1.4 or later.

Here are the notes for older versions of wine:

Note: The trial edition will encounter an error when installing, this error does not prevent the application from working.

    • Run the Polymath EDU Site installer
    • Use winetricks to install dcom98 (./winetricks dcom98)
    • Run wineprefixcreate to temporarily fix an issue with advapi
    • Run winecfg, go to the Libraries tab and switch rpcrt4 to "Builtin then Native"
    • Obtain scrrun.dll from a Windows installation (C:\windows\system32)
    • Place scrrun.dll in ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32/
    • Register the scrrun.dll file (regsvr32 scrrun.dll)
