What works

Most of the game.

What does not

The installer hangs just before completing. To get around this, set an override for msvcr80 in winecfg and change the load order to disabled. (You'll probably want to undo this after completing the installation, as other programs may need this DLL.)

Some minor graphical glitches:

• objects (mainly tiles) that should be partially offscreen are instead completely invisible
• In-game dialogs flicker as they appear on-screen
• The "goodbye" screen doesn't scroll in smoothly
• A "ghost" image of this screen is left behind after the game exits if the screen resolution (either the actual desktop or a virtual desktop) uses the same resolution as the game (800x600) and the game was running in fullscreen mode.
• When the fullscreen option is disabled, the game window will initially have no window decorations, but they appear on subsequent runs.

Purchasing a license from the game launcher isn't possible. You should be able to get one by purchasing the game as a gift from Alawar's website.

Additional Comments

Even if you don't disable msvcr80 and the install hangs, the game should still be playable. The installer will just need to be killed manually.
