This is the boxed retail version of the game. An auto-updater is available, but the update servers are no longer online.
Everything. Using Kubuntu 6.10. But it's a little tricky to make it work.
First, don't run it from the icon in the desktop. You must open the console and type wine nfs3.exe in the directory it was installed.
Then, it will run smoothly from this moment on. The drawbacks: It's very slow and the mouse acts quirky, but it's even playable. As a matter of fact, there must be some adjustment to be done, so it runs in an acceptable speed.
What does not
So far, could not make it work in 3D hardware. Only the software renderer.
It's slow and the mouse behaves quirky.
What was not tested
Only for the speed and the mouse. The rest is playable. It even shows the movies.
