This is the boxed retail version of the game. An auto-updater is available, but the update servers are no longer online.
Now it works. Well, i took a look in NFS4 HS and one thing caught my eye: The command line nice -19. It works exactly the same way with nfs3. With this parameter in the command line, it runs perfectly.
The installation can be followed straightforward from what has already been written in this topic.
The only change, when you run it, type this command: nice -19 wine nfs3.exe.
What does not
Hardware accelleration . But my video card it's not a very good one (S3 Savage)
What was not tested
In my case, the game goes to software renderer by default. It never activates the 3d hardware acceleration
