Tomb Raider III: Adventures of Lara Croft
Everything, as long as configure Wine in "graphics" tab. Default is "Vertex shader: Hardware," which starts a game with all textures ghostly gray. Instead set this to "Vertex shader: None." Then everything works.
What does not
Everything works: controls, sound, setup.
What was not tested
I mostly tested the TR3 packages at www.trle.net. This is a site with all things Tomb Raider, including custom levels for TR2, TR3, and TR4. The TR3 levels are self-contained--just download them, unzip, and play. Some of the highly rated TR3 levels are "Lara Croft Returns" [16 levels], and "Lunar Apocalypse."
I tested the TR3 download levels from www.trle.net. I also tested with Puppy Linux 4.12 with Wine 1.1.7 installed. All I had to do was create a setup shell script to start the level in Wine with "tomb3.exe -setup" as parameter. In Karmic Ubuntu with Wine 1.2-rc1, I could use a "setup.bat" file with the line "tomb3.exe -setup", right click this, and choose Wine loader. With old Wine version, game runs by default. With new Wine 1.2-rc1, have to configure in graphics tab and set "Vertex shader: None." Then the textures display correctly. Admin note: rating changed to conform to the rating definitions.
