there are a few requirements with wine 1.9+ : - First you need a 32 bit wineprefix to be able to install dotnet20, you can create one with : WINEPREFIX=/somedir/wine32 WINEARCH=win32 winecfg - then you need dotnet20 inside : winetricks dotnet20 - then you need the directx ole link for dotnet, so just leave the game install its directx at the end, this will take care of the ole link. At this point try to run the launcher, normally you should have an error about compiling the global shader when you start the game. I had this with an nvidia gtx 960, and I checked with some other wine apps that it was indeed accelerated, so the issue is probably with the shader translation. In this case you need winetricks d3dx9 problem is that you'll get some software 3d rendering and no acceleration at all ! With this you can run the game, but it's sub optimal, the animation should be smooth all the time in this kind of game, and it is not here. Maybe the shader problem will be fixed in a later wine version...

This requires a recent version of Wine.
You will not be able to save your progress in game.
Using winetricks install dotnet20 and dotnet30.
In the Steam directory containing Batman rename the installscript.vds file.
~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Steam/steamapps/common/batman arkham asylum/
Install Phsyx and GFWLfrom ./redist. The latter requires the switch /nodotnet to install successfully.
Run BmStartApp.exe from the ./Binaries folder. Authenticate your key (retrieve from Steam) and activate the game.
Run BmStartApp.exe to play the game.
If the game fails to start due to .net errors then two configuration files need to be updated as is described here.
