This game needs a lot of work in the directx area it seems. Credit goes to Atso Galkin for figuring out how to get past the White screen o' Death.

HOWTO

Getting the game to load past the white screen

To get the game to get past the white screen, Atso Galkin figured out that you have to edit the settings.ini file which gets saved to your My Documents\BFBC2Beta folder (generally My Documents is mapped to /home/youruser/ ).

  • Open /home/$USER/BFBC2Beta/settings.ini
  • Change "DxVersion=auto" to "DxVersion=9" (minus quotes). 
  • Try loading the game
I've noticed that if the game isn't loading with fullscreen enabled, try setting it to false in settings.ini , then setting the desired resolution in the in-game settings and then changing it back to true.
