What works
Installation runs to completion in Windows 2000 mode (didn't try any other modes).
- Does not install Volo View Express, probably due to Internet Explorer not being installed.
Running the application fails until the following have been fixed:
- Installation screwed up the PATH variable in the following registry key
\\HKEY_LOCALE_MACHINE\System\Current Control Set\Control\Session Mananger\Environment\PATH
Fix this be editing directly the value in ~/.wine/system.reg, or by using regedit. Set this value to "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared"
- Requires the following windows dlls to be placed in C:\Program Files\System32\
"MSVCIRT.dll" and "MFC42.dll"
After this the Autocad 2002 runs. It operates well for around 2 mins then crashes. I tested printing, basic drawing, reading files and saving, all worked fine.

Installing
1. Use recent version of Wine(tested with Wine-1.1.17)
2. Download winetricks by following command
wget http://www.kegel.com/wine/winetricks
3. Install required components by following command
sh winetricks corefonts gecko tahoma
It will take some time because winetricks will download all above components
4. navigate to your AutoCAD 2002 CD and run
wine setup.exe
PlayOnLinux way
You can install your AutoCAD 2002 using PlayOnLinux (some kind of gui for Wine). I think it's the easiest method because script will tell you step by step what to do. To do so you'll need:
1. PlayOnLinux
2. POL Helper plug-in
