Installation and the gameplay both work fine. Ability to save preference changes, custom board layouts, and game logs also works.
What does not
The game encounters various errors if you attempt to use a "designed" board layout for either the player or the AI. Using a "random" layout for both sides allows the game to play. These same errors also prevent the game from saving your win/loss record.
What was not tested
Customization of piece appearances. Ability to upload and download board layouts.
I was able to install some Windows DLLs through winetricks to overcome the first error ("cannot access MDAC", solved by installing MDAC 2.8) and second error ("OLE error", solved by installing DCOM98) encountered when trying to start a "designed" game, but yet another error prevents the game from starting that I was not able to solve. Gameplay is fine as long as "random" setups are used for both sides.
