What works
Installation in a clean 32-bit-prefix ('WINEARCH=win32 WINEPREFIX=~/MyWinePrefixes/W32Apps/.PrefixName winecfg'), although I'm using a 64-bit-machine.
Character creation, sound, music, graphics (highest settings).
Playing the tutorial and the first chapter (approx. 2 hours).
Loading (always), saving (often).
What does not
Intro video (s. additional comments) doesn't play, without wmp9 installed game crashes.
Sometimes the game crashes during saving (normal save & quicksave).
Capital letters.

I had to install wmp9 (bug 25329), d3d36.dll and quartz.dll via winetricks. In another tutorial I read that it would make sense to install msscript too, so I did. Not sure if it is really necessary... I think the rating should actually be 'gold'.

To make the ground visible open regedit. Navigate to (if something does not exist, create it) HKEY_CURRENT_USER-->Software-->Wine-->Direct3D-->Useglsl Set it to "disabled" You also need to install wmp9 with winetricks. Otherwise the game will crash if you hit "start new game" or "accept" after you created your character.
