What works
Game installs with no problems. It then loads without any problems, and displays the scenario-selection screen.
Gameplay was run for about twenty minutes in order to test the earlier crash-to-desktop bug was defeated.

Sound had to be disabled for the game to function for more than a few minutes.

No multiplayer testing.
Large scenarios take quite a while to load by HoI.2 standards; I don't know if this is normal or not.

Requires installation of DirectX 9 using winetricks. Hearts of Iron II (Armageddon) runs fine on the same machine under the same configuration.
