What works
The game can be completed on Wine without issues. Graphical, controller and audio settings were also extensively tested and no errors were found. The game was played with a DualShock 2 controller which worked out of the box.

What was not tested
Playthroughs with languages other than English were not tested, although it can be safely assumed that they work as intended. The audio virtualization and "Creative EAX" settings in the menu were also not tested; the former was not necessary as surround sound worked perfectly and the latter could not be activated due to the lack of a compatible sound card.

Additional Comments
The game has a glitch with the fog effect that also affects Windows and can be fixed by editing the "Hardware.ini" file and setting the "InvertFogRange" field to 0. The fan-made patch tool "Universal Widescreen Patcher" was also used to add higher resolution support to the game, which also worked without issues (to avoid ambiguity in regards to the program used, the download page can be accessed in this link).

(in case that link doesn't work, it shows a reasonable, legible Ubisoft logo at the left of the output window taking up about 80% of the space, plus another copy of the Ubisoft logo at about a 60 degree angle at the upper right)
I'm not sure if it's a bug in Wine, a bug in my graphics drivers (Intel HD4000 graphics, Mesa 9.1), or some unfortunate interaction between the two. I figured I should mention it, though.
