Playing the game

Multiplayer. It might work if you install directplay (e.g. via winetricks).
A workaround is required to launch the game because only specific (small) resolutions and 16 bit color depth are supported. I successfully used the solution of user "aligator" to launch the game.
With Xephyr a screen can be created that appears as ordinary window on the desktop:
Xephyr :1 -ac -screen 1024x768x16
The game can then be started with
DISPLAY=:1 wine Loco.exe
One annoyance is that the tutorial popups freeze the game for a bit and are sometimes hard to close because there is a chance that they temporarily make the cursor invisible.
