Additional Comments
Using Lubuntu. Installer at the end reports that: "Wizard was interrupted before FR 10 PR could be completely installed. Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again. Click FINISH to exit the wizard." , but it has no impact on running installed programme as long as you DO NOT follow that advice. NB: It is IMPORTANT that after installation finishes: you press not the button "Finish", but "Close" this window (press cross in the corner)! I also uncheck checked by default two options offered during installation ("Run ABBYY Screenshot reader at system startup" and "I agree to send some of my ABBYY FineReader settings to ABBYY to help..."), but probably it has no impact. Tested 2 FR versions: 1) 10.0.102.109 (10.501.159.70013) retail (not trial) On net search for torrent name: 488YY F1n3R34d3r P3 10.0.102.109 RETAIL - 582,0 MB (581 953 544 bytes) Runs like a charm. 2) 10.0.102.95 (10.501.145.70012) trial with patched files: ProductLicensing.dll FineReader.exe Bonus.ScreenshotReader.exe Awl.dll included. Just afer installation overwrite the originals. After patching, TrigrammsInstaller.exe shall be run (with FR closed). As here previously stated by gymka - otherwise, while recognizing text, it reports "no english.amt found" and work is not finished. On the net search for torrent name: ABBYY_FineReader_Pro_v10.0.102.95.exe - 392,7 MB (392 739 924 bytes) Thats it. P.S When choosing "Save As" Microsoft word document - it actually saves as RTF.

1. Extract self extracting package(ABBYY_FineReader_10_PE.exe) 2. In terminal go to folder there you extracted files(default ~/.wine/drive_c/users/your_user/temp/ABBYY FineReader 10) $ cd '~/.wine/drive_c/users/your_user/temp/ABBYY FineReader 10' 3. Launch setup with disabled rollback function $ wine msiexec /i 'ABBYY FineReader 10 Professional Edition.msi' DISABLEROLLBACK=1 now finereader will install and won't delete files(finereader deletes files because setup ends with error) 4. Now you need to launch TrigrammsInstaller.exe file in folder there finereader installed(in my case ~/.wine/drive_c/program files/ABBYY FineReader 10/), launch it there will be no GUI it just will create language files.(without this, if you try to OCR text you'll get "no english.amt found")
