Installation goes without hiccups, as long as source is patched accordingly. Local and servers correctly found and accessed. Browsing and editing OK. That is, all funcions seem to work.
What does not
Fields are shown upside down when being edited. Icons and most other embedded images too. Quite slow when refreshing views (everytime something is clicked). List view is shown as Form view and Table view is shown as List view. In short: weak image rendering.
Crashes sometimes. Then a new window with an error message comes in the background, and we have to find a way to unhide it (not as easy as right-clicking taskbar icon and selecting "Stay on top") to be able to close the main window. Until that, FileMaker will stay on the foreground, no matter what.
What was not tested
I don't know other functions to test.
Recommended packages must be installed: http://winezeug.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/install-wine-deps.sh or sudo apt-get build-dep wine wine-dev Source must be patched with all 6 corrections, and installed following all instructions, from here: http://www.compholio.com/wine-kane/#patches I used two optionals: tools/make_requests and autoconf. Dunno if they are required, but didn't want to take the risk.
