GoG installer, and playing the whole game to the end works perfectly after using the tweaks listed below.

To fix the problem with a completely black screen when the game is started: Go to the directory where the game is installed. Create a player.ini file using the following command: echo '800 600 16 0 BaseCMO.cmo' > player.ini (See https://www.gog.com/forum/syberia_series/syberia_1_in_window_mode) To be able to move the window around without getting black borders I had to use a Wine virtual desktop, which I set to the size 810x630. I used a 64-bit wineprefix and Windows-version set to Windows XP. There was no need for any no-CD cracks, nor any winetricks/DLL fixes.
