This version is compatible with the interface and handheld instruments with a RS-232 output, not with interface and instruments with USB-output.
This software is cheap but is only delivered with the measure instruments or with the Cobra-interface. A license-key is needed.
I tested all the features of the sotware under Xubuntu+Wine, specially the communication between the software and the handheld measurement (RS-232). It all works. Nor me, nor my students, see any difference between this software on windows or on Xubuntu+Wine.
What does not
What was not tested
I tested all the features of this software I use under windows
The test was performed several times by myself and by some students on an old Toshiba Sattelite Pro SP6000 laptop with 256 Mbyte memory (Xubuntu works on this PC, Kubuntu and Ubuntu not). The test was also performed with and without some extra software working parallel on this old laptop(Citrix-receiver and/or VNC-software). There was no interference from this extra software.
