Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing

What works

• Basic lesson functionality.
• All tested settings, including turning off full-screen.

What does not

• Some fields when creating a new user did not work correctly, with demo text appearing as actual text, or throwing a "Please enter an integer" warning when trying to erase the default zero value, but thankfully the problems were manageable.
• Slight visual glitches in the settings tabs.
• Mini Mavis seemed to be unable to remain in the system tray while running: The icon disappeared, but it said it was still running when I tried to launch it again.

Workarounds

• The Visual C++ mfc42 library is required to run. Install the mfc42 verb.
• Monospaced Windows fonts are required for proper lesson rendering. Install the corefonts verb.
• The text must be deleted manually.
• Deleting the 0 default value for WPM brings up a "Please enter an integer" warning. Dismiss this, and enter your WPM goal in the now empty field.

What was not tested

• Using the official CD-ROM to install (files were manually copied from an existing Windows installation).
• Some miscellanious configuration options.
• Most Mini Mavis functionality.
