What does not
Sound effects: most don't play, some do. Does not depend on which specific sound effect it is, but on some unknown factor. (Music does work.)
Using native dsound.dll fixes sound effects, but breaks music playback. Solution for that is playing TranscendenceMarch.mp3 in a loop with your music player of choice.
