Known issues listed for previous releases are still applicable for this release.
Found in Version 9.0.1
(#5875) Desktop Workbench cannot be installed on Windows Vista if Microsoft .NET 1.1 SP1 framework is
not present. During installation an error message “1603: Error installing Microsoft(R) .NET Framework.” is
generated. To work around the problem, do the following:
1 Stop Desktop Workbench installation.
2 Manually download and install Microsoft .NET SP 1 from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/
details.aspx?familyid=A8F5654F-088E-40B2-BBDB-A83353618B38&displaylang=en.
3 Install Desktop Workbench again.
(#5848) If you have Microsoft Word 2007 and Trados TagEditor (with the Word Spelling Checker Plug-in)
installed, when you start Desktop Workbench you may see error messages about a TRADOS.dotm file being
locked for use. You can select any of the dialog-box options and click OK to close the error message. Desktop
Workbench is not affected by the Trados file; it merely encounters the file when testing whether Word is
available for spelling checks, a test it always performs on startup.
To avoid the error message, make sure that all instances of Microsoft Word, including Outlook, are closed prior
to opening Desktop Workbench (or TagEditor). The problem is a known issue to both SDL and Microsoft and
may be fixed in a future Office service pack.
(#5817) When working with invisible characters turned on (View > Invisible Characters), you may
encounter an application crash in certain instances. The first is when you find and then insert a segment that
contains both invisible characters (such as spaces, tabs, and so forth) and placeholders via Online Concordance
Search using the Insert button. The second is by using the Edit > Change Case command on a segment that
contains both invisible characters and placeholders. To work around the problem, turn off the invisible
characters view.
(#5843) When translating a project that contains thousands of assets with all assets open, switching to another
segment after editing a target is very slow if you have a segment filter applied. To work around the problem, do
one of the following:
􀂄 use the All segment filter
􀂄 open only one asset at a time for translation, rather than the whole project
