What works

Launching the game, starting new games, loading games, processing turns, all interface windows, issuing orders, combat.

What does not

 Full screen game mode

There are a few minor visual artifacts when processing the turns and in the system display.  In Tactical Combat the combat map doesn't appear until time is started the first time.  Modal windows cause the background to leave mouse pointer trails, which go away when the modal window is closed.

Additional Comments

With a stock wine prefix, it loads quickly but the system display fails to load. With orm=backbuffer, it loads and the latency seen in previous versions of wine isn't encountered. In messing around trying to make it work with an older wine, I ran `winetricks strictdrawordering=disabled multisampling=enabled glsl-enable ddr=opengl orm=backbuffer quartz directplay` I think the only one of those actually needed is orm=backbuffer.
