What works

Mostly everything after two and a half playthroughs

What does not

* Online activation does not work. This is a bug with the game. If you have problems with this, download the 1.10 patch from Sega and apply it to the game; it removes all DRM and all problems associated with it. You can even apply it to the Steam release. * Mouse suffers from bug 6971. You cannot turn more than an about 90 degrees without bringing up the powers menu and re-centering the mouse pointer. The game is playable this way but very, very, annoying. * Dialog text will disappear if fullscreen is enabled in the in-game graphical options (default). This is a bug which also exists on Windows and is caused by limitations of the Unreal Engine, however the fix on Windows (turning off forced Anti aliasing in the graphical card options) does not work on Linux. * The game itself will sometimes not display anything when starting up, even though it plays sound and accepts user input. The only way around this is to play with the in-game fullscreen setting switched off. Virtual Desktop does not fix this. * The mission Assaulting Lazo's Yacht in the Russian hub always crashes the game shortly after starting it.

Additional Comments

If you apply a patch to wine to fix bug 6971, the game's rating goes up from Bronze to Silver. Even patched, the game's graphical performance seems to be slower than it should be. This is because the developers of the game did not do a very good job in optimizing it; it is not a problem with Wine. This can be improved with various .ini tweaks to APEngine.ini. Turning of vsync and frame rate smoothing does wonders for speeding framerates up.
