What works

All features in the Library, Develop, Slideshow tabs. This includes importing and exporting photos. Nothing runs very quickly, but is usable enough to get work done.

What does not

Develop: Zooming into the photo shows a grey square
Develop: Detail Preview (for Sharpening) does not display
Develop: Histogram and Curve view display improperly, but are usable.
Library: Many thumbnails do not show until clicked on.
Import: Graphical glitches in folder selection dialogs

Additional Comments

winetricks must be used to install dependencies. The top menu bar does not display unless the emulation version is set to vista or win7. The following command worked for me: winetricks vcrun6 colorprofile corefonts vista If zooming worked properly, I would change my rating to Silver.

HOWTO

To work optimally, Adobe Lightroom 3.0 requires the following dependencies to be installed:

MS Visual C++ 6 runtime
Standard RGB color profile
gdiplus.dll (graphical library)
Windows version set to 'vista' or 'win7'

You can easily set up your Wine environment for Lightroom using winetricks. The following command will get you started:

winetricks vcrun6 colorprofile corefonts gdiplus vista

If you experience problems with the menu bar up top not showing up, you have forgotten to set your Windows version.
