An analyse with wireshark shows that ds.onlive.com isnt reachable for the client in wine. The server isnt even pingable from terminal.In windows on the same machine it works flawlessly. No special firewall rules given.

When you are unable to connect to the onlive service make sure you have allowed connections to "DS.onlive.net" in your firewall. you can temporarly disable it by running sudo ufw disable in a terminal window
