I ran in some problems while installing, the cd change did not work well (the installer did not free the CD, so i had to use umount -l to get it out), but the installation completed. There was an other problem, i needed to run Disciples 2 with an lower nice level to avoid sound stuttering.

I got the game to run very easily. I'm running wine 20030813 on a gentoo desktop.

To install it, I did the following:

I'm going to assume that the cd device points to '/mnt/cdrom' and you are installing to a fake 'c:\ drive.

First mount the first cd and run wine:
    'wine /mnt/cdrom'

It will try to install it, but when  you need to change cd you are not going to be able to unmount the first cd. So, just cancel the installation.

Before removing the cd, you still need to do several things. Copy the Briefing, Music, and Video folders to the installation folder. Then copy the Discipl2.exe to the installation folder also.

After copying the folders, you need to go to the insallation folder and edit the 'INSTALL.LOG' file. You need to remove the last line of the install log (it is one that says that you cancelled the installation). After removing the files add the following lines:

Since you are editing in unix, you need to change the file to a windows file or you are going to have problems. you can do so with the unix2dos utility:
      'unix2dos INSTALL.LOG'

The next step is to run the uninsaller, which also has a repair option:
      'wine UNWISE.EXE'

choose the repair option, or all your files will get deleted! This part of the installation is necesary since the file setup.exe found in the cd has all the other files in it.

After it finishes 'repairing' the installation, unmount the cd and mount cd 2. Copy the 'Imgs' folder to the installation folder.

Now download a no-cd patch from megagames.com and install it.
