What works

In vanilla and modded "grand campaign" - almost everything

What does not

(both in the newest Wine 1.2-rc5 and 1.1.42):

1) Problems with siege battles already reported several times here are still not fixed:

-After attacking a settlement with stone walls the game loads very slowly

-In this case the loading indicator only updates after Alt+Tab to desktop and back

-Siege battles (with stone walls) run much worse than the normal ones.

-Same thing on highest and lowest configurations.

2) Shaders of the second version lead to the game crash and unable to load

3) Stainless Steel patch 6.1 (optional) doesn't install.

What was not tested

Multiplayer, tutorial, finishing the grand campaign

Hardware tested

  • GPU:
  • Driver:

Additional Comments

I am a Linux and Wine newbie, don't judge me too severely. :) And please, find a way to fix the siege problem, it prevents from really playing the game.

Capitalization in mods

I'm a huge fan of the Stainless Steel mod. One problem I've had is with capitalization. For example, Stainless_Steel_6\Data is the same as Stainless_Steel_6\data as far as Windows is concerned, but as you know under Linux (I currently use Mandriva) they get put into separate folders. Is there a way you worked, or I could work, around this issue?
