ÂMake sure you operate on a clean WINEPREFIX (~/.wine)!
1. Prerequisite installation
You need a Win32 Java Runtime installed in WINEPREFIX (either JRE or JDK). Download it from Sun here.
2. Work around GUI glitches/problems
Winetricks will work around some problems.
$ wget http://kegel.com/wine/winetricks
$ sh winetricks gecko corefonts
You need cabextract utility for winetricks corefonts step. Make sure it's installed locally.
Ubuntu:
$ sudo apt-get install cabextract
Fedora:
Â$ sudo yum install cabextract
Use the following workaround:
ÂÂ$ wine ./eclipse -vmargs -XX:AggressiveHeap
