What works
So far, eveything works splendid (but see below).
What does not
Wine will not display Japanese characters properly when installing
and/or running PM5 right out of the box, as generally happens with all
Japanese applications. This can be easilly resolved.
After installation, I created a batch file with the following line:
LANG=ja_JP wine pm5.exe
Afterwards, I always run the game with that batch file instead of
the original executable. For easiness sake, I modified the shortcut
created for the installation program to do so.
This way, the game runs perfectly and displays correctly the Japanese texts from the game.
In my computer, I ALSO had to install BOTH the oriental fonts AND its fake aliases throught the winetricks scripts "cjkfonts" and "fake--------" in order to be able to read the text.
Workarounds
What was not tested
* The opening video. I had to delete it for the game to start.
