Default install to a clean 32 bit wineprefix using the disk images currently available for download on Adobe's site that do not require registration. Everything worked without issue when following the instructions from Adobe (see below).
What does not
What was not tested
I already had the MS corefonts installed systemwide, so I did not have to use winetricks, but bug reports indicate that the fonts are needed for Adobe products. Gold, because of that and the fact that a 32 bit wineprefix is necessary. Note that since Adobe took all the registration servers for CS2 offline in December, 2012, it is not possible to register the product or to install using an original key that required registration. The same is true on Windows, so this is not a Wine issue. Adobe has provided a download and key that do not require registration on their website. Adobe's instructions for installing are rather cryptic; here's a clearer version: --Download the installers for the disk images (3, plus the extras disk if you want) --Run the installer for disk 2. --When prompted for the destination for the files, change it to C:\Creative Suite CS2\Adobe Creative Suite 2.0\ (the default setting puts in in the wrong folder; this is a known bug in the installer) --Run the installer for disk 3, making sure the destination is C:\Creative Suite CS2 (default was okay on mine) --Run the installer for the Extras if you want --Run the installer for disk 1, making sure the destination is C:\Creative Suite CS2. --Use the serial number provided by Adobe on its site for this version (older serial numbers that required registration will fail) --Select Do Not Register on the screen that asks if you want to register.
