Install the following way in a terminal, use the wineprefix command for installation in a clean environment You need to have (the latest) winetricks installed cd ~/ && wget http://www.kegel.com/wine/winetricks && chmod +x winetricks env WINEPREFIX=~/.wine-ap5x sh winetricks corefonts mdac28 jet40 msxml4 directx9 ie6 wininet dotnet20 env WINEPREFIX=~/.wine-ap5x wine '/path/to/albumplayer_setup5x.exe' (install AlbumPlayer V5.x) env WINEPREFIX=~/.wine-ap5x wine regedit Go to "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http\shell\open\command" Edit and change it to C:\windows\system32\winebrowser.exe -nohome "%1" (Set native firefox as the default browser) env WINEPREFIX=~/.wine-ap5x wine "C:\Program Files\AlbumPlayer\AlbumPlayer.exe"
Install the following way in a terminal, use the wineprefix command for installation in a clean environment You need to have (the latest) winetricks installed cd ~/ && wget http://www.kegel.com/wine/winetricks && chmod +x winetricks env WINEPREFIX=~/.wine-AP53x sh winetricks corefonts mdac28 jet40 msxml6 dotnet20 (AP craches with directx9 on wine 1.4 & 1.6, so don't install) env WINEPREFIX=~/.wine-AP53x wine '/path/to/albumplayer_setup53x.exe' (install AlbumPlayer) env WINEPREFIX=~/.wine-AP53x wine "C:\Program Files\AlbumPlayer\AlbumPlayer.exe"
For 64-bit systems set wine to 32-bit first, for msxml6 & dotnet20 to install succesfully
env WINEPREFIX=~/.wine-AP53x WINEARCH=win32 winecfg
With the default pulse-audio setup in Ubuntu Lucid 10.04, Albumplayer can not resume playing after a pause.. To use ALSA-only in Ubuntu 10.04 you either need to remove pulseaudio or stop it from auto-spawning. To disable auto-spawn, edit or create the file ~/.pulse/client.conf and add a line containing "autospawn = no" there. I ended up completely removing pulse. Code: sudo apt-get install gstreamer0.10-alsa gnome-alsamixer sudo apt-get purge pulseaudio gstreamer0.10-pulseaudio *Note, this will also remove the volume-applet* (screenlets or avant window navigator can replace the volume-applet) Another alternative which you can try is Wine with pulse-audio enabled https://launchpad.net/~neil-aldur/+archive/ppa?field.series_filter=lucid https://launchpad.net/~c-korn/+archive/ppa Best alternative I came across is from the bordeaux group With this wine version you get a working dib version (for native speed) and pulse audio support in one! Setup is like this: The DIB engine wil only run in the root of .wine So to install this get your copy of Bordeaux here: http://bordeauxgroup.com/ , then install AlbumPlayer in the root of wine (.wine) If you look at the how-to instructions above then the only thing you need to change is to leave this part of the command: 'env WINEPREFIX=~/.wine-ap5x' So you get: [code:]sh winetricks allfonts mdac28 jet40 msxml4 directx9 ie6 wininet dotnet20
(you must use allfonts here too)
wine '/path/to/albumplayer_setup5x.exe'
(install AlbumPlayer V5.x) etc/etc (assuming winetricks & wine1.2 is installed) Then you still have to change audio to pulse, do this with
/opt/bordeaux/bin/wine winecfg
...in audio settings Once your installation is finished you start Albumplayer like this in the terminal:
export WINEDIB=ON

/opt/bordeaux/bin/wine "C:\Program Files\AlbumPlayer\AlbumPlayer.exe"
